The role of a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in an e-commerce startup is critical, as technology is the backbone of the business. The CTO is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the startup, from product development to infrastructure and security.**

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development and execution of the technical strategy for the company, in alignment with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee the product development lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, ensuring that products are developed in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner.
- Lead and manage the technology team, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed to help team members grow and develop their skills.
- Manage and optimize the startup's infrastructure, including servers, databases, and other technology systems, to ensure high levels of performance, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with other teams, such as marketing and sales, to identify technology solutions that can support their goals and objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in e-commerce technology, and proactively recommend new approaches and solutions to the leadership team.
- Manage the technology budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet the company's strategic goals.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a strong track record of delivering innovative, high-quality technology solutions in the e-commerce industry.
- Experience with modern web technologies, such as React, Angular, and Node.js, and with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies and tools.
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to build and manage high-performing technology teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into language that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
- Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the e-commerce industry and its competitive landscape.
