About the project

PATH’s ongoing work is focused on improving young people’s access to mental healthcare services, and rational use of digital mental health interventions. PATH’s program ‘ASPIRE’ aims to improve mental health outcomes among young people aged 15-24 years in Chikkaballapura district, Karnataka state by developing and deploying interventions to improve young people’s access to mental health resources, and care for common mental disorders through primary healthcare services in the district.

About the position

Responsibilities:
- Facilitate, coordinate, and conduct training and capacity building activities for relevant stakeholders (mainly Peer Educators, Community Health Officers, and Community Health Workers).- Assist and support the project team in contextual adaptations of tools, job-aids, training materials for Peer Education, and IEC materials for project implementation in the said geography.- Provide on-site support, handholding, supervision, and coordination for demonstrating project activities in the assigned block in Chikkaballapura district.- Undertake extensive field travel within assigned block and district towards the project activities and liaise with health officials at block and district levels, and community health workers in relation to demonstration of ASPIRE project.- Document project activities, training logs, track progress and support reporting of the ASPIRE project.- Timely collection, compilation, and analysis of project implementation data from all the health facilities, schools in assigned block and give feedback to the project team for its regular uptake.- Support the project manager and national team in mapping of key actors and services focusing on youth mental health within the block and district.- Other tasks assigned by the project lead.

Required experience and qualifications:
- Advanced degree in social work, health sciences, rural development, community health with 2-4 years’ experience and demonstrated skills in development and implementation of youth development projects in primary care settings.- Experience of working with block/district level government health departments and other sectors related to youth mental health.- Technical knowledge and field experience of primary health care and public health programs in Karnataka.- Familiarity with Indian public health system, flagship initiatives and relevant government policies/ strategies relevant to mental health, Ayushman Bharat - Ayushman Arogya Mandir, and relevant National Health Programs and other initiatives of Karnataka government.

Skills / Abilities:
- Proven ability to multi-task and collaborate work effectively with diverse stakeholders including government officials, local institutions, and others at all levels.- Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines, and an emphasis on quality.- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and report writing skills.- Excellent skills in facilitation, team building and coordination.-
- Fluency in Kannada, English and Hindi.
