SAFe Agile Coach/Trainer

The SAFe Agile Coach will be responsible for coaching and mentoring cross-functional Agile teams. This person work closely with our Agile Center of Excellence, Engineering and Product Leadership, and our Engineering Training organization. Goals for the person in this position will be to help teams adopt an agile mindset, understand how to get the most out of Scrum, and help leaders and teams understand their roles and how they make meaningful contributions in the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprises (SAFe). The endgame for this person is to make a significant contribution to the Agile transformation initiative so it not only gets off to the right start, but is successful and sustainable long term.

Hands-on experience working in an Agile team as well as experience in a company undergoing an Agile transformation is extremely valuable for this position. Excellent writing and communication skills are required. This person will ideally have at least two years of experience training and coaching teams on how products are built and improved using Agile methodologies. A SAFe Practitioner Consultant (SPC) certification is a big plus.

Primary Responsibilities:
Partner with the newly formed Agile CoE to collaborate on the overall Agile transformation initiative.
Leverage real-world experiences to coach and mentor recently trained teams to help them work through challenges and adopt best practices.
Lead occasional “lunch and learn” sessions to cover focused training topics that meet the needs of the moment.
Spend time with teams that need focused help with ceremonies or day-to-day practices and make suggestions to help them improve.
Educate leadership and team members on the benefits of Agile to help drive a shift in culture and mindset.
Train cross-functional product development teams on Agile Scrum and SAFe.
Coordinate internal and third-party training resources as needed to achieve training objectives on time.
Use toolkits and develop training materials to meet just-in-time educational needs.
Identify additional coaching needs to help teams improve, including agenda items for communities of practice.
Work with On-Demand courseware developers to create materials for the RealPage LMS.
Coordinate training sessions and help manage training schedules.
Collaborate closely with the Agile CoE group on strategies to sustain and grow Agile practices at the company.
Help identify any process or training gaps that need to be addressed and work with internal teams to close the gaps.
Communicate with the Agile CoE and leadership on the status and outcomes of Agile coaching activities.
Track engagement and measure outcomes of coaching activities to help achieve company objectives.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with one-on-one coaching and/or training
Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum and SAFe
Prior experience at a company that underwent an Agile transformation
Professional demeanor, dependable and able to maintain confidential information
Strong verbal and written communication skills including excellent grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
Exceptional analytical, listening, leadership and interpersonal communication skills
Proven ability to coach and mentor others
Flexible, detailed, and able to successfully adapt to change
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task and deal with a variety of unrelated issues simultaneously

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

2 years formal training, presentation, and public speaking experience
Experience helping create and implement Agile transformation action plans
SAFe Practitioner Consultant (SPC) certification is strongly preferred
Experience working in a cross-functional Agile team
Knowledge of Azure DevOps and JIRA in SAFe and Agile configurations
Experience developing and implementing training programs
Primarily in-office support of clients and support agents, possible travel (no travel needs at the moment, but if that changes in the future, it would be on rare occasions)
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
