**Supervise security guards**

A security supervisor can go through several scenarios so that employees can prepare for various circumstances. This employee may conduct these drills on a schedule that their place of employment establishes. They can monitor how other employees act during these drills and determine what improvements they can make in their responses.

**Perform investigations and hold interviews**

A security supervisor may be responsible for performing investigations of incidents and conducting interviews with witnesses. If they have these duties, it's important for them to adhere to their company's protocols and remain unbiased so that they conduct a fair investigation. They also abide by individuals' legal rights so that they can protect the integrity of the investigation and the reputation of their place of employment.

**Conduct inspections for physical and safety hazards**

A security supervisor is responsible for performing inspections for physical and safety hazards. For example, they may find tripping hazards like slippery surfaces as they're conducting their patrols. Instead of leaving these hazards unattended, they can stay close to them so that they may warn customers and others of them. They can call the appropriate personnel to arrive to handle the hazard so that they can ensure that it no longer affects the premise.

A security supervisor may also detect issues present with equipment. For example, consider a security supervisor who works in a manufacturing plant. If the supervisor notices that a piece of machinery is making unusual noises or producing smoke, they can alert their manager to prevent any safety risks that this malfunctioning machinery may cause.
