**Job Title**:Canteen Cook**

**Qualifications**: Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a high-volume food service environment. formal culinary training or relevant certifications are preferred, knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines, understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

**Job Summary: The** Canteen Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals to students, faculty and staff in a college canteen around more than 1000 to 1500 members per day. The role requires maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety while ensuring that meals are prepared according to menu plans and dietary requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1.Meal Preparation & Cooking**: Prepare and cook meals according to the menu and recipes, ensure that food is cooked to the correct temperature and quality, adjust recipes as needed based on dietary restrictions or special requests, maintain consistency in food presentation and taste.

**2.Menu Planning**:Assist in developing and updating the menu in collaboration with the Canteen Manager or Head Chef, incorporate seasonal ingredients and local produce where possible, ensure that meals cater to diverse dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergen-free options.

**3.Food Safety & Hygiene**: Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation, maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and canteen areas, perform regular checks of kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs, ensure that all food is labeled and stored correctly to prevent cross-contamination.

**inventory & Supply Management**: Monitor food stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of supplies,assist in ordering ingredients and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and mínimal waste, conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.

**Team Collaboration**: Work closely with other cooks, kitchen assistants, and canteen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations, participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen processes. assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
