**Responsibilities**
- Devise and use strategic sourcing process
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Contract Management.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations.
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers.
- Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving/ cost reduction on procurement costs
- Understanding of fleet operations, driver management, pan-India routes, trucking hubs, etc.
- Developed and managed a decently sized vendor fleet of various truck types - national & local.
- Sufficient contacts to develop vendor bases across the country on a long term basis
- Understanding of service level performance management of vendor fleet and managing churn/exceptions
- Understanding of technology systems usage
- Hands-on with an ability to work on the ground - ability to travel extensively and at short notice
- Good knowledge of logistic operations and command over demand and supply planning

**_Outcomes Expected: _**
- Build a significant network of vendor fleet across the country for line haul and local in ambient and temp controlled.
- Manage the operations across the country and deliver committed service levels and quality to the network.
- Manage the P&L and deliver the targeted outcomes internally.

**Skills and competencies**
- Engineering graduate with Degree in Materials Management, supply chain management, logistics or business administration.
- Proven track record delivering transport solution.
- Knowledge of ERP is MUST.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Experience in collecting and analysing data
- Significant experience in fleet management and transportation vendor development & Management - national & local
