Local Unit & Position Description:
This position is part of the GPM **Domain Knowledge Team**. **The main remit of this Team is**:

- To create digital tools that enable our customers to optimize the way their assets operate.
- To innovate and disrupt the industry with best-in-class solutions and breakthrough market opportunities.
- To provide analytics and tools for the suite of GPM solutions.
- To leverage the potential of data analytics combined with the technical knowledge available in the wider cohort of DNV Energy Systems colleagues.

We are looking for a student or a recent graduate to help our teams to develop renewables optimization algorithms by getting involved in coding and/or support activities.

The end goal of the project is to write code or support the creation of algorithms to extract actionable insights from data coming from renewables assets. The code and the algorithms will eventually become part of the GPM monitoring and advanced analytics offering.

**In more details a list of the most relevant tasks includes**:

- Design or support the design of innovative algorithms that will add value to customers when managing renewables assets and portfolios.
- Discover market requirements/needs/trends at the base of the innovative solutions that you will be developing or supporting.
- Be able to create or support algorithms written in Python.
- Become part of a team operating according to the Agile manifesto.
- Participate in internal and external feedback sessions to ensure algorithms are scalable and easy for broad implementation.

Position Qualifications:
**Mandatory**:

- Student or recent graduate with knowledge of renewable energy generation technologies with focus on solar PV and wind energy acquired through university courses or demonstrable vocational studies
- Knowledge of Python (highly preferred)
- Good command of the English language (writing and speaking)
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex themes both internally and externally

**Preferential**:

- Student or recent graduate with knowledge of renewable generation technology or battery storage acquired through university courses or demonstrable vocational studies
- Knowledge of databases and big data
- Experience or knowledge of techniques used to handle large amounts of data
