**Job Overview**

This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled data scientist to have a meaningful impact on a large scale at one of America's leading financial services firms. In this role, you will join the Distribution and Geospatial Data Science team within CB Decision Sciences. This role will help continue driving optimization and growth across Chase's retail network which has grown tremendously over the last several years to serve customers across the contiguous 48 states. We're very proud of the work we do to make banking more accessible to communities and wouldn't have been able to do this without the people developing and executing upon analytic solutions across the firm.

In this role, you'll have the chance to leave your mark as part of a team that's working hard to deliver analytics solutions that will guide Chase's distribution network into its next phase of growth and optimization. From day one, you'll partner with teammates and stakeholders to deliver on high impact analytic initiatives that will support multi-million-dollar decisions. Initially this role will focus on partnering across Consumer and Community Banking to gather business requirements, perform data collection and exploration, provide analytic support for data and spatial science modeling efforts, and guide stakeholders on implementation and execution. You'll have the opportunity to work on analytic solutions from start to finish and will be able to see the impact of your work in near real time.
**Team Overview**

The **CB Decision Science Team **is responsible for working across Community and Consumer Banking to develop and execute actionable data science and analytical solutions to advance our marketing, product, distribution, and sales strategies. The team also supports a strong control environment and seeks to protect our customers.

Within CB Decision Sciences is the **Distribution and Geospatial Data Science Team **which focuses on developing cutting edge data science and analytic solutions leveraging the best technologies available in the data science space. Our objective is to support the growth and optimization of the branch & ATM network and the innovation of our servicing capabilities to enable customers along their financial journeys. We're also responsible for the identification and implementation of new data assets and technologies that allow us to stay ahead of the curve.

**Key Responsibilities
- Work business partners to understand and document analytic project objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Ensure constant two-way communication throughout the analytic journey.
- Work with partners and teammates to identify and collect data from various relational databases, datamarts, or Big data file stores utilizing technologies like SAS, Alteryx, Teradata Studio & PySpark. Ensure that data use documentation complies with Chase's internal controls framework.
- Perform full lifecycle of the data science process including:

- Cleansing and pre-processing of data in advance of modeling
- Developing models that respond to stakeholder needs
- Developing documentation and monitoring program adhering to model governance standards
- Synthesize analytical findings for consumption by business partners and senior executives
- Guide partners and senior executives on the best implementation method for analytic pipeline

**Qualifications**
- Education: Bachelor's / Master' s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Math or GIS fields)
- Required work experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics, and data-driven strategic role(s).
- Excellent communicator able to convey information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner to business partners and senior executives
- Advanced knowledge of quantitative statistical methods and experience across a range of modern data science and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Hive, Hadoop, Spark, Python, R, Alteryx)
- Financial services background preferred, but not required
- Domain specific expertise including fraud/risk analytics, bank operations, and distribution strategy preferred, but not required
