POSITION TITLE: HOUSE KEEPING Executive
Location: Mahape
Position Summary:
- The Housekeeping Associate will be responsible for the routine duties in cleaning and servicing
of Guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, Conference and Events in the hotel under supervision
of housekeeping supervisor. Their job duties are critical in the up keep of the hotel, as
cleanliness is of the highest priority in the hospitality industry. Room attendant promotes a
positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, and friendly.
Housekeeping Associate should also able to address guest requests and problems. The role of
this position is to issue uniforms and linen to staff according to systems and the procedures laid
down by the hotel management. Also takes inventory and control movement of soiled,
damaged and fresh linen and uniforms
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
- Performers any other duties as assigned to him/her by management
- Ensure that all bedrooms and public rooms are serviced and cleaned daily
- Cleans the guest rooms and public area washrooms.
- Vacuums and polishes elevators
- Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and
shampoo machine.
- Replenish amenities like guestroom and bath supplies according to the operational
standards.
- Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards
- Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
- Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super
cleaning etc.) as required
- Responsible for replenishment of guest complimentary water and Tea / Coffee stations.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of his work area and service pantries
- Responsible for the Hotel property situated in the work area.
- Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in the area assigned to him.
- Responsible for following the standard operating procedures of Housekeeping
department.
- Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction score.
- Collects solid linen supplies in floor linen closets.
- Maintains housekeeping carts and other trolleys.
- Removes trash collected by room attendants while doing Public area duty.
- Responsible for spring cleaning of their area as per the schedule given to them.
- Sort's items and counts and records number of items soiled
- Stores laundered linen and uniforms on shelves after verifying numbers and types of
articles.
- Issues linen and uniforms, which are both to be exchanges on a clean-for-soiled basis
only.
- Counts and records linen to fill requisition.
- Check periodically the condition of hotel linen and uniform.
- Maintain complete knowledge of:
- All hotel guestroom facilities / services
- All hotel facilities / services and operations
- Room types
- Internal (within the hotel) and external (city or county-wide) functions, events
and exhibitions
- Competitive set product
- Interact with guests, clients and other important individuals/companies in promoting
the hotel’s image while doing the room cleaning.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding the security of specified guests and any
and all guest, and client information.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding any and all information related to the
Hotel, such as employees, financials, business and administrative Hotel issues.
