Field Executive

Reporting to - Deputy Manager ( Production)

Location : Sangamner

Urban Farms Co. (UFCo) is growing to be the largest producer and supplier of regenerative organic vegetables in

NCR and rapidly expanding to other cities namely, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Post the success of Araku

Coffee, the team with 20+ years of experience in regenerative organic agriculture, focused on developing a first

of its kind regenerative organic ecosystem for farmers. This model of UFCo was awarded as a visionary food

system by Rockefeller foundation, New York in 2020. UFCo is creating multiple Regenerative Agriculture Clusters

(RACs) across the country enabling farmers to move to this new form of agriculture that is a win-win for the

environment, farmer and consumers. The model is also carbon positive and uses local organic biomass to create

high quality farm inputs.

UFCo uses a Hub and spoke model to grow organic vegetables. The RACs act like a Hub while we engage network

farmers in around the vicinity of the Hub to produce organic vegetables via a contract farming route. All the

input materials plus scientific knowledge is provided by UFCo and the farmers follow a strict SOP to ensure

quality produce. UFCo provides 100% buy back at a premium price to the farmers (based on quality).

Each RAC has the capacity to produce ~ 2000 tonnes of organic compost annually and to cater to 200 acres of

network farmers.

UFCo has already set up RACs in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru and will be setting up in Mumbai by end of Mar

22.

The role of the incumbent would be to work closely with the network farmers and manage day to day

operations with respect to aligned procurement plan. This position will also be responsible for monitoring of

disease prevention plans / quality improvement / yield improvement plans.

JD
- Day to day management of ground operations at network farmers.
- Monitoring of plantation schedule for all network farmers and collaborating with operations team on

regular updates.
- Responsible for implementation of quality / yield improvement programs.
- Work in close co-ordination with planning team on specific issues that could impact harvesting plan /

sales.
- Responsible for driving improvement projects with respect to procurement practices, network farmer

expansion in line with business goals.
- Responsible for handling day to day grievances of network farmers and timely resolution.

Qualification Required:

- Graduate / Post graduate in Agriculture Science.
- Experience of 1-5 years in Contract Farming operations ( ground operations).
- Knowledge of organic / regenerative / pesticide free farming will be an added advantage.
- Good communication skills in English, Hindi & local language
- Proficiency in computer skills - MS Office
