Position: Drafting Engineer
Job Overview:
As a Drafting Engineer at our pre-engineering building company, you will play a crucial role in translating design concepts into detailed and accurate technical drawings. You will collaborate closely with our design, engineering, and project management teams to create plans that serve as the foundation for the construction of our steel structures. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and proficiency in CAD software will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of our projects.
Responsibilities:
Technical Drawing Creation: Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, plans, and schematics based on architectural and engineering designs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to industry standards.
Structural Detailing: Develop accurate and comprehensive structural drawings that encompass the entire steel structure, including framing, connections, supports, and other essential components.
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and translate them into feasible and efficient design solutions.
CAD Proficiency: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar tools, to create, modify, and finalize drawings.
Code and Standards: Stay updated on relevant building codes, industry standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and safety in all drawings.
Revision and Documentation: Manage drawing revisions and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle, addressing design changes and updates as required.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of your own drawings and collaborate with peers for quality assurance to identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors.
Innovation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting processes, techniques, and tools to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy.
Communication: Clearly communicate design concepts and technical details to team members, clients, and contractors, both verbally and through documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Drafting Engineer, preferably within the pre-engineering building or steel construction industry.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Saad Pro,Tekla Structures.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building codes.
Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in creating technical drawings.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing design challenges.
