**Job Title: Steel Building Draughtsman/Draughtswoman**

**Job Summary**:
As a Steel Building Draughtsman/Draughtswoman, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for steel structures, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects. Working closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams, you will translate conceptual designs into precise blueprints that guide the fabrication and erection of steel components. Your expertise in CAD software and understanding of structural principles will ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of steel building projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design Development**: Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop design concepts for steel buildings, considering factors such as structural integrity, aesthetic appeal, and functional requirements.
- **Technical Drawing**: Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and building codes.
- **Material Selection**: Select appropriate steel materials and components based on project specifications, performance requirements, and budget constraints.
- **Structural Analysis**: Conduct structural analysis and calculations to verify the integrity and stability of steel building designs, making adjustments as necessary to optimize performance and safety.
- **Coordination**: Coordinate with other members of the design and construction teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and fabricators, to resolve design issues and ensure seamless project execution.
- **Quality Assurance**: Review and validate drawings and plans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
- **Documentation**: Maintain thorough documentation of design revisions, change orders, and project communications to facilitate project tracking and ensure accountability.
- **Continuous Learning**: Stay updated on advancements in steel building technologies, construction methods, and industry best practices to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in steel building design and drafting, preferably in a construction or architectural firm.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or Revit, with the ability to create accurate 2D and 3D drawings.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, steel fabrication techniques, and building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Professional certification or licensure in engineering or architecture.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and integrated project delivery methods.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and green building practices.
