We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments team at Mercer. This role will be based in Mumbai/Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Lead Specialist – Investments (Data Management) As part of our Global Data Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the transformation of our data capabilities globally. We will count on you to: A solid understanding of the Investment Management Domain, including middle and back-office functions, as well as some knowledge of the front office, is required. Ability to perform data analysis, identify data challenges, and provide insights using domain knowledge to address these challenges in the short and long term. Experience in developing and proposing functional designs to automate manual processes. Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions and generate extract/reports. Familiarity with designing data models and defining data architecture schema is necessary. Proficiency in data processing and working with data warehouse/big data environments is essential. knowledge of Excel/VBA and experience with languages like SQL is desired. Knowledge of Investment Management application modules such as Data warehouse, DATAMART, and reporting tools is desire. Familiarity with ETL tools for importing new data from external/internal sources is desirable. Exposure to project management tools like Jira Kanban and Confluence is desirable. Experience in creating test cases, including negative testing and regression testing, is a plus. Familiarity with unit funds/NAVs and understanding of fund structure, share classes, asset classes, etc., would be beneficial. Exposure data and process flow mapping (from "as IS" to "to BE") is a plus. What you need to have: Minimum 6-9 years of experience working in a team supporting relevant functions. Understand & Process complex data sets so as to carry daily/periodic task along and for purposes of delivering/providing trusted data to Data Warehouse Knowledge of Investment Management application modules such as Data warehouse, DATAMART, and reporting tools is essential. Work on exception captured by placed quality checks and conducting RCA on the issue to maintain consistency of data on client holdings, transactions, Prices etc. Familiarity with ETL tools for importing new data from external/internal sources is desirable. Exposure to project management tools like Jira Kanban and Confluence is desirable. Experience in creating test cases, including negative testing and regression testing, is a plus. Familiarity with unit funds/NAVs and understanding of fund structure, share classes, asset classes, etc., would be beneficial. Pro-active & self-learner and carries right attitude towards challenges to bring or suggest Process Improvement Idea. What makes you stand out? Knowledge and experience gained in implementing financial data solutions in particular Eagle and FactSet or similar Asset Management application. Understanding of Data Management routines & procedures. Understanding of the financial services industry, specifically Investment Accounting. Understanding of the software product management lifecycle and/or investment performance measurement and analysis. Experience of business process improvement in asset management – for example, performing data investigations to determine root cause of data quality issues. Expertise and demonstrated experience of Eagle Pace or similar applications. Strong SQL skills and a basic understanding of relational models are highly beneficial. Proficiency in Advance Excel, Word, PowerPoint is preferred. Experience with Visio and process flow mapping is desired.
