Job Overview:
We are looking for a Manager to lead our management accounts department on a property project. Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. You will ensure SLA and KPIs are met, drive financial decision and client satisfaction. Strong communication skills and confidentiality are essential.
Roles and Responsibility:
Lead and manage a team of 2+ accountants, overseeing their day-to-day tasks and ensuring the timely completion of all deliverables with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Supervise the team's responsibilities in managing Accounts Payable (AP), Treasury, and Record-to-Report (R2R) functions, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with business requirements.
Actively monitor team performance, set clear expectations, and ensure that deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met or exceeded.
Conduct detailed reviews of the work carried out by accountants, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, accuracy in reporting, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Identify any discrepancies or areas of improvement in the work and provide corrective guidance to maintain a high standard of output.
Develop and implement robust, efficient processes to streamline workflow and ensure operational effectiveness, addressing any existing bottlenecks.
Continuously evaluate processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, automation, and enhanced control measures to drive efficiency within the team.
Prepare accounts for designated property/site, including financial forecasts, variance analysis, and entity-level accounts, ensuring all reporting is completed accurately and on time.
Support the wider accounting team in preparing and reviewing entity accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports, ensuring all subsidiary data is accurately consolidated for corporate reporting.
Work closely with senior management to ensure that all necessary financial information is provided in a timely manner to support decision-making processes.
Review and approve supplier payment runs and tenants' refunds, ensuring that all payments are accurate, timely, and properly authorised, in line with company policies and procedures.
Ensure strong controls are in place around the payment/refund process to minimise errors and reduce the risk of fraud.
Manage the onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring they receive comprehensive training on systems, processes, and standards.
Create and execute structured training plans for the team, ensuring ongoing development and upskilling of team members to meet evolving business needs.
Collaborate closely with team members, managers, and senior leadership to identify and implement process automation initiatives, aiming to increase efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Work in partnership with other departments to brainstorm and execute ideas related to process improvements, enhanced controls, and improved efficiencies across operations.
Ensure all processes are documented thoroughly and maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operational activities.
Regularly review and update process documentation to reflect changes, ensuring clarity and adherence across the team.

Advanced Excel Skills: Proficient in Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools, to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
Proven track record in managing and mentoring teams, driving performance, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial data and collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Proven problem-solving ability to resolve financial discrepancies and operational challenges.
Experience working in dynamic and challenging environments, with strong prioritization and multitasking skills to effectively manage competing deadlines and responsibilities.
Experience in setting up various processes through coordination with the operations team, sales team, and other finance teams.
