We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Fashion Designer to join our creative team and contribute to the development of our signature collections. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Junior Fashion Designer located in New Delhi at Richa Ahluwalia. The Junior Fashion Designer will be responsible for working closely with the senior designer to develop Bridal wear collections. Daily tasks include creating sketches, selecting fabrics, collaborating on fittings, and contributing to the overall design process. The role also involves research on current fashion trends to ensure that designs remain competitive and appealing. You will be responsible for creating and developing unique designs that align with the brand's vision and target market. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a budding designer to cultivate their skills and contribute to the creation of beautiful and impactful designs Job Description: Design Development & Research: Conduct thorough trend research, including analyzing runway shows, fashion publications, and online resources. Assist in creating mood boards, color palettes, and concept presentations. Sketch and illustrate design concepts, both by hand and using digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop). Source and select fabrics, trims, and other materials. Assist in developing and maintaining fabric and trim libraries. Technical Design & Pattern Making: Create technical drawings and specifications for garment construction. Assist in the development of patterns, including drafting and draping. Collaborate with pattern makers and sample machinists to ensure accurate execution of designs. Participate in fit sessions and provide feedback on garment prototypes. Assist in creating and updating tech packs. Sample Development & Production: Assist in the coordination of sample development, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to design specifications. Monitor the quality of samples and provide feedback to the production team. Assist in the selection of appropriate manufacturing techniques. Assist in quality control of finished goods. Market Visits & Raw Material Sourcing: Regularly visit local markets and suppliers to source fabrics, trims, embellishments, and other raw materials. Negotiate prices and build relationships with vendors. Evaluate the quality and suitability of materials for design concepts. Maintain accurate records of sourced materials and supplier information. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with the design, merchandising, and production teams. Communicate design ideas and technical specifications clearly and concisely. Participate in design meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions. Maintain organized design files and records. Maintain good relationships with fabric and trim suppliers. Trend Awareness: Stay up to date on current and future fashion trends, and be able to implement those trends into designs, while keeping the Richa Ahluwalia brand aesthetic in mind. Desired Qualification: Bachelor's degree in design or Fashion Design college degree in fashion design or related field (NIFT or Pearl Academy ONLY). 2+ years of design experience. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, CorelDRAW, and Adobe Creative Suite. Availability to travel for research and product development. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of designs and techniques. Strong knowledge of fashion trends, textiles, and garment construction Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to meet multiple deadlines. Competence in Fitting practices and techniques Creative mindset with a strong attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment The following are the selection criteria for the interview: Experience with High-end Bridal designers.
