Role Title: Software Engineering Advisor
Position Summary:
The Production Support Engineer Advisor will be an integral part of a talented team responsible for ensuring smooth operations of Data warehouse and Big data applications. Also assist in the design, build and unit testing of integration/big data applications. The ideal candidate should be a well-rounded, self-starter that works best in a collaborative, dynamic, agile environment and have a passion for solving complex problems
Play a technical role in supporting, trouble shooting, triaging production solutions/applications primarily in the areas of Data Warehousing, Big Data and Data Integration/ETL. Trouble shooting and issue resolution and ensuring smooth operations of the applications.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Production support activities such as troubleshooting, work on operational efficiencies, release management, etc.
- Occasionally participate in the design, development, unit test and implementation of SQL and Mainframe based solutions.
- Provide support for defect resolution and triage
- Ensure designs are consistent with architectural direction and are documented based on SDLC.This includes the documentation of unit test plans.
- Participate in proof of concepts for software tools/technologies related to application or process development.
- Provide support on CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Ultimately responsible for maintaining solutions and ensuring their smooth operation conformant to enterprise standards, architecture, and technologies.
Primary Skills:
- Expertise in SQL and RDBMS platforms
- Experience in data integration and ETL tools is a plus
- Unix and scripting skills
- Mainframe Experience
- Familiarity with Python
- Experience in troubleshooting issues
- SDLC familiarity
Experience Required:
- 5+ years of experience building and supporting solutions on relational databases
Experience Desired:
- Healthcare industry experience
- Business Objects Reporting Experience
- AWS Exposure
Education and Training Required:
A bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering or Mathematics
