About the Role:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive AR & AP Accountant to support our Corporate Finance team.
This role is responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable functions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Canadian taxes, handling high transaction volumes, and has the ability to work independently in a dynamic corporate environment.
This is a remote position based in India.Key ResponsibilitiesInvoice Processing: Verify, process, and reconcile vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.Expense Analysis: Analyze and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including expense summaries and aging reports.Vendor Management: Maintain and manage relationships with vendors, addressing any payment issues or discrepancies promptly.Data Management: Ensure accuracy of financial data by maintaining and updating the accounts payable ledger.Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards, including tax compliance for payable transactions.Collaboration: Work closely with other finance team members, departments, and stakeholders to support overall financial health and operational efficiency.Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.Quick Books experienceKnowledge of Canadian taxes – HST, PST, PD7 A, ROEExperience with Canadian Full-time employees – Federal Tax, Provincial Tax, CPP, EIExperience with vendor paymentsMeticulous in verifying invoices from vendors/consultants prior to processing the payments.Experience with MS Excel, Pivot and scripting (VLOOKUP)Work during ET hour 8 AM – 5 PM with breaks – 8hrs/dayAbility to work from 7 AM – 4 PM ET every Wednesday as this is the payment processing day every week.Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounts payable or a related financial analyst role.Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial transactions and records.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Challenges & ExpectationsHigh volume of transactions requiring strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExpectation to complete the month-end close within 30 days and quarter-end close within 60 daysWhy Join Us?
