Key Responsibilities
The Upgrade Implementation Engineer is a member of the Upgrade Services team within the Professional Services department and reports to the Upgrade Services Manager. As part of Enablon’s new Cloud offering, like-for-like upgrades of Clients Enablon SaaS solutions are included. Therefore, Enablon is building a new team, Upgrade Services, that is dedicated to upgrading Client solutions. This role, the Upgrade Implementation Engineer, will be responsible for implementing the technical upgrade of the Client solution by leveraging Cloud technologies and DevOps pipelines within Enablon.
The Upgrade Implementation Engineer must be knowledgeable in the functionality of the standard Enablon solution but also ramp-up on the Client’s specific configuration to properly perform the upgrade. The Upgrade Implementation Engineer documents issues identified and work with the Upgrade Services team to remedy them. The Upgrade Implementation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of the upgraded solution, prior to the Client’s review. The Upgrade Implementation Engineer also works closely work with the Upgrade Services Manager to help identify gaps, improve processes and efficiency.
Perform Upgrades
Delivery high quality upgrades in an efficient manner
Understand and analyze functional requirements
Perform configuration/scripting according to configuration guidelines
Design, configure, test, and deliver fixes and enhancements for client solutions
Identify issues and manage risk
Analyze technical feasibility and propose estimates with solutions to meet client requirements
Deploy AWS/Azure environments
Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction
Comply to processes, best practices, and maintain documentation
Organization
Refine and improve internal procedures, including the upgrade methodology, procedure, and processes
Work with other internal departments to improve the product’s ability to upgrade
Provide pro-active reporting to the Manager
Coach Junior Engineers
Update the knowledge base and produce new articles related to upgrade best practices
Communication
Demonstrate good and clear verbal and written communication (by phone, email, and web meetings)
Professionally interact with people, both internal and external to the organization through various media
Write clear processes, best practices, and other documents
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
3+ years working in a client-facing or consulting role or other equivalent experience
At least 1 year experience working on software product upgrades
In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge related to technology implementations
Successful experience working on large, complex implementations
Knowledge of best practices and how to differentiate software capabilities within a competitive market
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to drive projects forward with minimal guidance while acting as a resource for colleagues
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to maintain positive working relationships
​Technical Aptitude
Proficient in at least one programming language
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C, C++, VB, .NET and other web technologies
Knowledge of database design concepts
Experience with AWS/Azure is a plus
