ACS-I India is looking for a Bioinformatics Scientist who would be responsible for developing software tools/methods and databases to analyze biological data, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics etc. The person would identify and integrate data from various sources, such as public, proprietary databases, literature etc. Key aspect of position would be building innovative frameworks for data integration and automated data mining.

Job Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with scientist, technologist, and multidisciplinary project team members to provide scientific knowledge supporting data aggregation and content generation.
Conduct literature searches for various life science data types including drug, target, disease and any other relevant or key information for aggregating life science datasets.
Be the subject matter expert for biological dataset aggregation. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of various life sciences data types, practices and information affecting the business, industry trends.
Interact with the IT team to set policies about data aggregation and storage.
Contribute towards several research initiatives by the company.
Capable of self-directed research within broader goals set by group.
Manage multiple projects at any given time along with tracking project milestones.
Should be able to teach and train his/her team in all the above-mentioned aspects as and when required.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Ideal Candidate will have:
Handling Omics data like WGS, WES, RNA-seq (including single cell transcriptomics),
miRNA-seq, Methylation (NGS and Array) and microbiome.
Knowledge of immuno informatics, antibody discovery, biologics diverse formats (mAB, Bispecific etc)
Common workflow automation, scripting, and programming platforms. Excellent coding skills with strong experience in Python, R Programming, Shell Scripting.
Code management, versioning using GitHub and day to day tasks management.
Experience working in a high-performance computing environment or cloud (AWS).
Scientific databases such as Medline, NCBI, PubChem, EMBL, SciFnder etc.
Overseas working arrangements - working with teams off continent (e.g., N. America, Europe, etc.)
Job Requirements:
PhD in Medicinal Chemistry/ Computational Biology/ Computer Science/Cheminformatics/ Bioinformatics/
Applied Statistics or a related field.
3-5 years of post-PhD experience
Knowledge of bioinformatics and basics of data analysis, Pipeline Building, Interactive dashboarding and statistical modeling.
Must be detail oriented, well organized with ability to analyze, and communicate data effectively.
Follow good practice software development and project management principles.
Self-motivated, proactive and excellent in communication skills
