Backend DeveloperAbout the Role and ResponsibilitiesBonHills is looking for a skilled Back-End Web Developer who will primarily work in C# .Net and Java. The developer will be responsible for building and maintaining functional and stable web applications. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your coworkers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well. You would be expected to provide examples of work, if available, and may be asked to complete a coding challenge.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# and Java codeDevelop and maintain web applications using .Net, Spring and Struts frameworkIntegration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logicBuilding reusable code and libraries for future useOptimization of the application for maximum speed and scalabilityUsing SQL and database optimization methods for efficient data management and retrievalImplementing MVC (Model-View-Controllers) to enhance UI and controlling logicTroubleshoot and debug issues in existing applicationsImprove existing softwareStay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web developmentWrite and execute unit tests to ensure code quality and functionalityTest and deploy applications and systemsServe as an expert on applications and provide technical supportRequirements and Skills2+ years of proven experience in C# and Java DevelopmentFamiliarity with the ASP.NET framework, MS SQL Server and design/architectural patterns Strong knowledge of Java programming language and web development frameworks, particularly Spring and StrutsStrong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and their implementationExperience in working with MySQL database Skill for writing reusable C# and Java librariesFamiliarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC, and RESTfulKnowledge of primary front-end technologies and platforms, like JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSSBasic understanding of JVM, its limitations, weaknesses, and workaroundsSound knowledge of Version control tools (Git, SVN, Bitbucket)Experience with third-party libraries and APIs (QuickBooks Desktop & Online API, Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Google Contacts, Google Graphs)Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and GradleBe able to demonstrate methodical approach to achieve core objectives of applications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
