Job Title: Remote Tax Director
Location: Remote
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Remote Tax Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax planning, compliance, and strategy, with excellent leadership and communication skills. As a Tax Director, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our tax practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage the tax department, including supervising and mentoring tax professionals.
Develop and implement strategic plans for the tax practice to ensure growth and profitability.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Client Services:
Oversee and manage tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients, helping them minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Technical Expertise:
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the firm’s services are compliant and clients are well-informed.
Conduct technical tax research and analysis, providing guidance and solutions on complex tax issues.
Review and approve complex tax returns and deliverables prepared by the team.
Business Development:
Identify opportunities to expand the firm’s tax practice, including cross-selling other services.
Participate in networking events, conferences, and industry associations to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation.
Develop and deliver presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
Quality Control:
Ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy in all tax deliverables.
Implement and monitor compliance with firm policies and professional standards.
Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure adherence to best practices.
Requirements Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
CPA certification required.
Experience:
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a tax practice.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in tax software and technology (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
