What you’ll do at Ather:

  • Assess quality risks on the running program.

  • Set effective quality metrics/targets and track them during the project.

  • Set up a robust design quality checklist at each design stage-gate.

  • Ensure DFMEA readiness and CIB list being monitored by quality stakeholders in the swimlane.

  • Ensure robust DVP at the vehicle and system level.

  • Ensure process quality is met by robust review of process documents.

  • Ensure robust RCA closure of the bugs identified at the system or vehicle level.

  • Ensure robust closure on supplier audits.

  • Ensure lessons learned document is getting updated and being retrospectively addressed in the future design and process.

  • Do a thorough impact analysis of the design or process changes.

  • Take informative, calculative and effective decision to approve/dis-approve design/testing/process changes.

  • Provide technical support in assessing national/international standards 

  • Review DVP development at each stage of program.

  • Active participation in design reviews, DFMEA session and deep-dives and ensure robust DFMEA and DVP items are planned.

  • Ensuring the lessons learned from older program are cascaded into new program.

  • Active participation and proper closure of root cause analysis of failure seen during development.

  • Ensuring the end to end quality of major engineering changes done during sustenance.


Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Thorough understanding and design knowledge of vehicle electrical components / peripherals like Lamps, switches, horn, motor controller, electronic components, harness, power cables, locksets etc.

  • Rich experience in peripheral component design, microcontroller / microprocessor design, Gerber and PCB design, FMEAs and improvements, component / box build manufacturing processes and SMT, supplier EoL and product traceability requirements

  • Working experience in different types of ECU design, FW development and communication protocols 

  • Experience in problem attribution & definition, root cause analysis and countermeasure validation

  • Ability to lead a team of highly competent engineers in the said domain

  • Working knowledge understanding of quality tools and methods (PPAP, 8D, SPC, DVP and build planning)


What you bring to Ather:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical engineering or equivalent from institutes of repute.   

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in new product development and experience is new product launch of at least 3 products.
