Job Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector in a plastic manufacturing facility is responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting products at various stages of the manufacturing process, conducting tests, identifying defects, and implementing corrective actions. The Quality Control Inspector works closely with the production team to maintain high-quality standards and improve overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Testing:
  • Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform physical and visual inspections, including dimensional checks, color consistency, and surface finish.
  • Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and any non-conformance reports.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports and present findings to the quality control manager and production team.
  • Document any deviations from quality standards and suggest corrective actions.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure that all quality control procedures and protocols are followed throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify root causes of defects and implement preventive measures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure all products meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest quality control methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Training and Development:
  • Train production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Develop and update training materials related to quality standards and inspection techniques.
  • Provide feedback to the production team on quality performance and areas for improvement.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Ensure all testing and inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working condition.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or calibration issues to the maintenance department.
