Role

JoVE is looking for a sharp, and self-driven Social Media Manager to lead the creation of fresh, engaging content that showcases the power of visual science. We're seeking someone who lives and breathes digital culture. You'll create and produce native social content (graphics, reels, carousels, short-form videos) that captures the attention of researchers, students, librarians, and science educators around the world. You'll work independently, build campaigns from scratch, and shape JoVE's voice across platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own JoVE's social presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube.
  • Create and manage a weekly social media calendar with platform-specific content.
  • Write sharp, audience-relevant captions and copy that communicate science in a simple, exciting way.
  • Design carousels, static posts, and motion content.
  • Monitor and respond to trends, hashtags, and opportunities for organic growth.
  • Build influencer and community engagement strategies to grow awareness and advocacy.
  • Track performance and continuously optimize for engagement, reach, and brand impact.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in life sciences.
  • Demonstrated passion for science communication and social media culture.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and building campaigns for a brand.
  • Strong skills in CapCut, Canva or Adobe Suite, and design of creatives.
  • Proven ability to ideate and execute original content without heavy direction.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Great copywriting instincts and visual storytelling ability.
  • High energy, adaptability, and love for a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
