This high-profile role requires a seasoned professional with hands-on expertise in test planning, test execution, and defect management. The ideal candidate should be skilled in test design techniques, test reporting, and defect reporting while demonstrating a strong ability to think outside the box and thoroughly test software across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute comprehensive Test Plans for functional testing, ensuring all aspects of the application are covered.
- Design effective and efficient test cases using various test design techniques (e.g., boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, etc.).
- Execute functional test cases on Web, Desktop, and Embedded applications while identifying potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Ensure thorough testing of applications by focusing on corner cases, out-of-the-box scenarios, and use case testing.
- Track and report defects effectively, ensuring proper documentation and management of issues through their resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and provide input into the design and functionality.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and detailed test reports, providing insights into test progress, issues, and overall product quality.
- Utilize and manage Test Management Tools to document, track, and manage test cases, test execution, and defect tracking.
- Mentor and train junior team members on best practices for test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Preferred candidates with a B.Tech or B.E. degree, specializing in Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication (EXTC), or Electronics.
- Candidates with a B.Sc. in IT/Computer Science or an MCA (Master of Computer Applications) are also highly preferred.
- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification is a plus.
- Experience or strong background in functional testing across Web, Desktop, and Embedded software; hands-on experience with test planning, test case design, execution, and defect management.
- Expertise with Test Management tools such as Jira, ALM, TestRail or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
