Job Purpose

The role will involve working on motorcycle projects from concept stage through to the start of production. You will work alongside and in partnership with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Current Engineering, Quality and Genuine Motorcycle Accessories. 

Predominantly, the role provides support to the Product development, Current Engineering Team to ensure that projects are delivered to meet the requirements from all departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow and help to maintain development and test procedures.
  • Plan and conduct tests as per DVP.
  • Preparation of new test procedures.
  • Produce supporting documentation/test reports for development tests and activities.
  • Liaise with internal departments such as the Test Team (UK),Product development, Quality and Assembly.
  • Liaise and work with external suppliers as and when required.
  • Have a good understanding of the application of regulatory requirements for motorcycles and consider and comply with regulatory requirements where needed.

Work Experience

Education

Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology (Mechanical/ Electrical-Electronics Engineering)

 

Experience

  • Mechanical/ Electrical-Electronics engineering discipline is desirable with min 5 Years experience
  • Strong technical background in motorcycles
  • Strain gage Instrumentation
  • Road load Data Acquisition (RLDA)
  • Stress Analysis
  • Fatigue Life calculation (New Capability)
  • Customer correlation (pave vs customer usage pattern) (New Capability)
  • Drive cycle creation & Durability on road simulator
  • Test standard preparation
  • Knowledge about DFMEA, Cause and Effect diagram and basic QC tools
  • Correlation of Testing with CAE
  • Document results and findings according to company standards
  • Good communicator, able to provide clear articulate explanations of evaluations and findings
  • Ability to demonstrate good time management and excellent knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong presentation skills and confident speaking.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Flexible, autonomous working style
  • Valid Full Driving License/Motorcycle License preferred
