Job Description:

Role Overview:  The Chef HR Manager will be instrumental in managing the human resources functions tailored specifically for our team of chefs. This role encompasses recruitment, training, performance management, and ensuring a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in HR management within the food and hospitality sector and a passion for supporting culinary professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment initiatives to attract talented chefs.
  • Conduct interviews, evaluate candidates, and make informed hiring decisions.
  • Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring seamless integration for new hires.
  • Training and Development:
  • Identify and address training needs, organizing professional development programs.
  • Coordinate workshops, certifications, and ongoing learning opportunities for chefs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and culinary innovation.
  • Performance Management:
  • Implement performance appraisal systems to evaluate and enhance chef performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and mentorship to chefs.
  • Address performance issues promptly and create improvement plans as needed.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment for all chefs.
  • Resolve conflicts and handle employee grievances efficiently and fairly.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and encourage open communication.
  • HR Administration:
  • Maintain precise HR records, including employee files, attendance, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Health and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all culinary operations.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols to protect employees and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, preferably in the food and hospitality industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Passion for the culinary arts and understanding of kitchen operations is a plus.
