Data Engineering works closely with business partners and Engineering teams to collect metrics on existing and new initiatives that are critical to business success. As Senior Data Engineer Privacy, you will contribute to Roku’s Big Data Platform’s architecture design, data modelling and ETL to ensure compliance with privacy requirements. This position is a key role for Roku's business to understand our users while complying with data privacy regulations.About the roleAs a Sr. Data Engineer focused on Data Privacy, your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain robust data privacy measures within the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with privacy regulations, conduct risk assessments, and develop strategies to safeguard sensitive information. Additionally, you will play a key role in enhancing data governance frameworks and educating stakeholders on best practices to uphold the highest standards of data privacy and security.This role requires hybrid working, you will be based in Bangalore.What you’ll be doingMaintain and support Roku’s existing data privacy solutions and work with Roku’s Engineering teams to implement required data privacy complianceAudit Roku’s Data Warehouse and Big Data Platform for compliance with GDPR, CCPA and other data privacy regulations.Own requirements, development and quality assurance of Privacy compliance tools that are part of Roku’s distributed data processing systems (batch and streaming systems) which includes data virtualization, data retention, and data anonymization,Participate in architecture discussions, influence product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over privacy aspects of Roku’s Big Data PlatformWork with Roku’s Trust team to ensure that our Platform is conforming to Roku's Privacy policiesWe’re excited if you haveMore than 5 years’ experience implementing data privacy solutions that comply with GDPR, CCPA and other data privacy regulationsExperience anonymizing and virtualizing sensitive dataProficiency in at least one scripting language, Python is requiredProficiency in at least one object-oriented language, Java is preferredExperience in big data technologies like HDFS, YARN, Map-Reduce, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Presto, etc.Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, AzureExperience with Data Visualization Applications. Looker is a plusCollaborate with cross-functional teams such as developers, analysts, and operations to execute deliverables5+ years professional experience as a data or software engineerBS in Computer Science; MS in Computer Science preferred#LI-PA1
