Bradken is equipping the resource sector to advance society.As a Methods Engineer, you will liaise with personnel from the Product Development, Manufacturing and Outsourcing functions and using your knowledge and experience in castings simulation software, optimise the methoding designs of castings to meet manufacturability, cost and safety considerations all designed to produce castings that meet our customer requirements. You will be responsible for providing this optimum methoding information utilising MAGMASOFT simulation software for alloy steel and high chrome iron castings.Our 3000-strong global team members are proud of the innovative solutions we provide our customers and our commitment to being carbon neutral by 2030.With your collaborative work style, you will advise the key stakeholders on the optimum methoding design for new and altered products. Through MAGMASOFT functionality, you will support product development and manufacturing with initial concept/design reviews, design for manufacture and review of first article trials, and assist in root cause analysis of non-complying products.Experience with associated pattern tooling models and pattern equipment requirements will be well regarded, although not essentialResponsibilities will include providing methoding support requirements for foundries located in Australasia and Canada and those locations where outsourced product are supplied from.As a process-oriented person, you will comply with the advanced product quality process (APQP) requirements. You will monitor upcoming product changes and new product introductions to ensure suitable planning for method/pattern development. You will identify the scope for process improvement in the foundry method /tool design regarding cost, productivity and delivery.You will foster a work culture that encourages open communication, liaise with other methods and technical personnel to assist in the establishment of a fully competent and collaborative centralised method/pattern tooling function within the businessKey Technical Criteria:

Formal methods or pattern-making qualificationUnderstanding and experience in Solid Cast/MAGMASOFT/Novacast simulation software, with MAGMASOFT being the preferred optionExperience in Foundry Methods, particularly for alloy steel and high chrome iron castingsExperience in Pattern Tooling design is desired but not essential.
