Project Description:

- Support an iconic Australian brand as they seek to replace and modernise core trading and clearing platforms.- You will be working on the latest technologies (AWS, Java Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka) in a greenfield project building out new digital experiences and core trading capability for this major financial institution.- Responsibilities:- As a Java back-end developer, you will be working within a team in charge of the back-end API/Kafka services integrating with the existing Clearing platform.- You will be participating in a larger program consisting in migrating a large monolithic clearing application into a distributed application based on micro-services as well as shifting from an on-premise installation to the Cloud.

Mandatory Skills Description:

- • 7+ years of relevant working experience- • Worked with, and delivered on, enterprise CI/CD capabilities and tools, providing guidance on best practices and helping enable major programs to deliver business value.- • Experience designing, building and testing Java applications, micro services, data streaming capabilities.- • Experience with API Swagger design- • Experience building micro services using Java Spring Boot and Node JS- • Experience building micro services and/or Serverless Applications like Lambda with Node JS- • In-depth knowledge of popular Java frameworks like Spring Boot & Spring MVC- • Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Architecture certifications on AWS (Preferred) or GCP incl Kubernetes Cluster Containerized based Java Spring Boot applications- • Experience on Apache Kafka / Confluent Kafka- • Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs- • Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)- • Good delegation and time management skills- • Problem-solving abilities- • Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment- • Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs- • Collaborate across time zones via documents, and frequent videoconferences- • Excellent debugging and optimization skills- • Experience in unit/integration and Non-Functional testing- • Experience with complex data structures and semi structured data (JSON, XML)- • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT discipline.
