We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Databricks Tech Project Manager to manage our data engineering initiatives and drive the development of scalable and efficient data solutions on Azure Lead a team of data engineers in designing, developing, and deploying data solutions using Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics.
What you can expect from the job:
- Architect end-to-end data pipelines to support data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in implementing best practices for data engineering, performance optimization, and data governance.
- Design and implement data integration strategies leveraging Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure SQL Database.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, data flows, and data governance policies.
- Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest Azure data technologies and trends, and evaluate new tools and frameworks to enhance data Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
What will help you do the job well:
- 12+ years experience in IT industry with 6 to 8 years of experience in data engineering and development, with a focus on Azure cloud technologies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and PySpark.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly SQL Data Warehouse).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience leading technical teams, driving project delivery, and mentoring junior developers.
- Deep understanding of Azure cloud services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
- Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance standards in Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to architect scalable and resilient data solutions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to complete projects with multiple dependencies and constraints
- Experience defining projects, identifying risks, managing cost, coordinating scope, identifying dependencies, scheduling and deploying new products and features
- Experience creating and cascading processes through an organization
- Knowledge of SQL and experience using Jira.
We would love it if you have:
- Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Experience with other Azure services such as Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or Azure Functions.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Apache Superset.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government.
