Job Description – Test Manager (FLEXCUBE Core Banking Implementation)

Job Purpose

The Test Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end testing strategy, planning, and execution for Oracle FLEXCUBE core banking implementation projects. This role ensures delivery of high-quality solutions by managing testing teams, defining test strategies, overseeing execution, and ensuring compliance with project timelines, budgets, and banking standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, and manage the end-to-end testing strategy for FLEXCUBE implementation projects (FCUBS 11.x – 14.x).
  • Lead testing teams (onsite/offshore) across different test phases including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, and Performance Testing.
  • Collaborate with business, development, and project stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Review and approve test plans, test cases, and scenarios to validate business requirements and system design.
  • Ensure effective defect management, root cause analysis, and closure within agreed timelines.
  • Provide test progress reporting, highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, QA processes, compliance standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee integration testing with third-party systems, APIs, microservices, and batch processes.
  • Support banking operations teams during mock runs, business simulation, and production cutover testing.
  • Guide and mentor the testing team, ensuring capability building and effective resource utilization.
  • Maintain strong coordination with Oracle, vendors, and internal technology teams for test-related activities.

Key Requirements

  • Graduate/Postgraduate with 12+ years of experience in IT Testing, including at least 6–8 years in core banking testing projects.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale testing programs in Oracle FLEXCUBE (FCUBS versions 11.x – 14.x).
  • Hands-on experience in test strategy design, effort estimation, resource planning, and test execution.
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations and modules such as Core Banking, Payments, Loans, Trade Finance, and General Ledger.
  • Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, APIs, REST APIs, microservices, and batch processing (advantageous for integration testing).
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Selenium, Postman, JMeter, or similar) for functional and performance testing.
  • Experience in digital core transformation projects will be an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills with proven ability to deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
