Foundations team collaborates with governments, global philanthropic foundations, and multilateral aid agencies, aiming to inform, influence, and profoundly impact social and systemic outcomes resulting from their investments in diverse sectors such as education, child welfare, gender, health, livelihoods and more. Our primary focus is on catalysing ecosystem transformation, formulating strategic solutions that are relevant, and ensuring that all stakeholders are effectively engaged.
About The Role
As an Engagement Manager in the Foundations team, you will be an integral part of a team that designs and builds solutions that best address our clients’ needs and create measurable impact. As an Engagement Manager, you will have the opportunity to work alongside individuals and teams on program strategy, business development, problem solving, and stakeholder engagement.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communications campaigns that support and advance the mission and vision of the target program. You will also be accountable for fostering relationships with external and internal partners to create meaningful growth opportunities for the target program, client as well as Sattva.
Key responsibilities
  • Communications and thought leadership  
  • Take overall accountability for developing a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the overarching mission of the organisation or program
  • Execute communication campaigns in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally; conduct need based workshops/trainings for key stakeholders to ensure effective execution
  • Set need based systems/routines to track progress of campaign execution and adoption
  • Lead the development of research and knowledge products that enhance the visibility of the impact created by the organisation or program
  • Contribute to the organisation’s/project’s overall thought leadership strategy by generating meaningful content that is relevant to the ecosystem
  • Government Engagement
  • Liaise effectively with government stakeholders at state, district, and block levels to execute communication campaigns aimed at strengthening the impact of the organisation/program
  • Stay abreast of new and current trends within the government ecosystem and social impact ecosystem; identify opportunities for growth and continued engagement
  • Delivery Excellence and Institution Building
  • Develop, manage, and grow working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure strong project management, effective team leadership, and overall profitability of project(s)
  • Actively track project milestones and manage multiple streams within the project to ensure execution as per timelines; Proactively identify and report project-related risks, mitigating them in consultation with the project lead
  • Demonstrate the ability to accurately frame complex problems and translate them into clear and actionable questions for self and team
  • Take ownership of the problem-solving process; demonstrate a robust inclination toward taking action and prioritising client needs
  • Lead internal strategic initiatives that contribute to Sattva’s growth
  • Build, structure, and disseminate knowledge internally within the organisation and at the ecosystem level
The Ideal Candidate

  • 8-10 years of experience in strategic communications, consulting, complex operations, and stakeholder management in corporate, social enterprises, or consulting firms

  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree in mass communications, journalism, or social sciences

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Hindi language) with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively

  • Prior experience in leading diverse teams and managing people

  • Prior experience of delivering Government engagements would be highly desirable

  • Exceptional problem-solving and advisory skills, with strong presentation and data interpretation abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to proactively build relationships

  • Demonstrated commitment to social impact and prior experience working in the social sector

  • Self-driven, curious, and adaptable personality with the ability to produce high-quality results
