A purpose driven role for you

The Platform STL (Design & Integration) is responsible for leading the design & integration team for VED systems for the platforms under his responsibility, including Structures, Wheel, Brakes and Suspension systems, as well as the Vehicle Integration of all systems/components on the vehicle. The role requires identification of CTQ parameters, detail design & release of all VED systems for the project with correct validation plan to meet customer expectations. This role requires an understanding of the various use cases and loading conditions during vehicle running & handling and converting those into a validation spec. The Platform STL should be an expert in understanding and maintaining HMCL stage gate requirements along with regulatory and safety compliance. He should have a good knowledge of creating and updating standard R&D documentation such as Design Guidelines (HEG), DFMEA, problem solving tools, etc.

A Day in the life

> Ensuring delivery of VED project deliverables within set CTQ Parameters
> Providing VED technical leadership for the platforms within the whole HMCL organization to ensure successful delivery of project.
> Managing the VED Platform team under the guidance of the the Chief Engineer, to achieve maximum NPD efficiency.
> System layout & design review of all parts and layout finalization.
> Technical guiding of VED work for platform/project from vehicle platform perspective to ensure overall benefit for platform/project.
> Work towards ensuring the smooth Implementation of LEAP/LEAD/MP activities

Academic Qualification & Experience

BE/ BTech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering from renowned Institute

Technical Skills/Knowledge

• Project management.
• Good understanding of DFMEA, DFM / DFA / DFS and GD&T
• Sound knowledge of vehicle systems such as structures, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels and/or Vehicle Integration.
• Innovation- ideation of new part and system concepts.
• Good understanding of FEA analysis.
• Understanding test and validation plan. And being able to identify risks and planning contingencies/back-ups.
• Understanding of Layout/vehicle dynamics of motorcycles.
• Experience in handling suppliers and internal/external customers.
• Preferably passionate about motorcycling and automotive engineering.

Behavioural Skills

• People management (leading, coaching, grooming, developing).
• Good communication & influencing skills.
