Context:

Clairvolex is looking to hire a Senior Research Associate (SRA) for its Zen Center for Research, Training and Publications. The Zen Center is a Clairvolex internal academic initiative. It operates from Clairvolex facility in Gurgaon. The Center carries out legal research in the area of Intellectual Property focusing on practical, real-world aspects of building, managing & monetizing IP portfolios. Artificial Intelligence and Software technologies and their interface with Intellectual Property is a focus area for research, training & publications at the Center. This is consistent with the fact that Clairvolex pioneers in developing advanced software and AI tools for IP management:


ClairVoice is a publication that Zen Center has been publishing. The Center also carries out numerous internal training sessions for Clairvolex employees in conjunction with both internal and external faculty members.


Role and responsibilities

The SRA will manage the Centre and lead all its activities including research, content development, publications, organizing academic events, participating in internal and external seminars and workshops. The SRA will endeavor to elevate the pan-org Clairvolex workforce to a higher academic depth and deeper research and analytical orientation.


Duties/Responsibilities of Senior Research Associate

  • Overall coordination of verticals: Research, Publication, Training, Events and Activities
  • Conduct and supervise research and provide technical, editorial inputs and writing reports
  • Conduct events, training and learning activities pan organisation
  • Coordinate and publish monthly internal Newsletter
  • Coordinate and publish articles, research papers for external magazines and subscriptions
  • Administrative tasks related to Centre for IP
  • Supervise and mentor researchers and interns associated with Centre for IP
  • Participating in matters of institutional growth and management as may be required from time to time


Skills Required:

  • Specialised knowledge of intellectual property law and other allied areas of law (technology law, international IP law etc.)
  • Excellent academic writing and editing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to supervise researchers and students
  • Time management


Education:

  • Candidates holding Postgraduate Degree in Law (LL.M.) or with Ph.D. in Law with demonstrable interest in interdisciplinary research in Intellectual Property are encouraged to apply. Minimum 6 months in applied research is a preference.
