Job Overview:

The Electrical Designer provides solutions to problems in the Electrical Design discipline without supervisory approval and will evaluate and select solutions from established operating procedures and/or scientific procedures.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

Prepare key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following: Block Diagrams Area Classification Drawings One-line diagrams Typical Installation DrawingsMotor control schematics Panel SchedulesMCT SchedulesLighting Layout Drawings Cable tray drawings Earthing layoutsBuilding LayoutsMCT LayoutsTray support location PlansCable tray sizing calculations Conduit & cable schedules AG/UG power drawings Interconnection & Wiring drawingsPrepare bills of material and perform MTO of electrical items  Work in 3D modeling tool to perform the following: Model Cable traysModel Electrical EquipmentModel Electrical field devices Model Cable tray supports / Supports for field devicesModel PenetrationsModel Cable trenchesExtract DrawingsExtract MTOClear Clashes / TDL Support Project Development and Coordination, including (but not limited to) the following: Maintain and promote a focus on McDermott’s end-product throughout engineering, fabrication, or construction Report to and coordinate with the electrical engineering project lead and electrical task lead, as applicable Effectively communicate with electrical design lead and project electrical designers and engineersRecognize and manage change with full awareness of project impact, keeping lead designer informed Assume responsibility for deliverables/activities to which are assigned 

Essential Qualifications and Education:

Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Experience using AutoCAD/Microstation/Smartsketch, SP3D/E3D/PDMS is must Experience with Dialux / Chalmlite for lighting calculation and Roxtec Tool for MCT sizing is preferred Minimum of 3 years of detailed electrical design experience  Familiar with application of standards, codes, and guidelines, including NEC, & NFPA Technical knowledge of the electrical detailed design/drafting process Experience using MS Office Suite including Excel and Word
