As we expand, we are seeking a visionary Editorial Head to lead our editorial team and uphold our commitment to educational excellence.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Editorial Head who will be responsible for overseeing the entire editorial process, from planning and scheduling to the final production of educational content. The ideal candidate will manage project lifecycles, ensure high production quality & timely releases, and lead innovation in content delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead editorial planning and scheduling to ensure timely publication of titles.
2. Conduct research and development for new titles and oversee the project evaluation and approval process.
3. Manage the creation and approval of stylesheets, layout designs, and online content presentations
4. Spearhead title conceptualization and design approval processes.
5. Analyze feedback in content to enhance content quality and ensure alignment with educational standards.
6. Monitor and enhance team productivity and production quality through detailed analysis and regular feedback.
7. Maintain smooth operational workflows, including billing processes and content mapping.
8. Oversee reprints & ensure timely release of updated titles.
9. Conduct team alignment meetings with Editorial Managers (EMs) for troubleshooting and support.
10. Maintain a motivated pre-press team while identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
11. Facilitate the smooth implementation of new technologies to optimize editorial processes.
12. Work closely with the Production, MIS, and Sales teams to ensure a collaborative approach to product launches and updates.
13. Provide ongoing training to the sales team on new and updated products
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in editorial management within the publishing industry, preferably in educational publishing.
2. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and inspire a team.
3. Excellent project management abilities, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
4. Proficiency in modern publishing tools and technologies, including content management systems and digital publishing platforms.
5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Master’s degree in Literature, Journalism, Education, or a related field.
