Open Stack AdministratorLocation : RemoteExperience : 2 to 4 yearsWe are seeking an experienced Open Stack Administrator to design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Open Stack cloud infrastructure across bare metal, virtual machines, and containerized environments. This role requires close collaboration with engineering and Dev Ops teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of R&D lab environments. The candidate should be flexible to work North America hours with occasional overlap for collaboration with the India-based team.Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy and manage Open Stack environments (manual and automated using Ansible, Fuel, Kolla, and vendor solutions such as Red Hat Open Stack, Mirantis).Configure and maintain Open Stack services including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, Swift, Heat, Ceilometer.Manage multi-tenant cloud environments with quotas, networks, and security groups.Perform upgrades across Open Stack releases (e.g., Kilo → Liberty → Mitaka).Automate infrastructure provisioning using Ansible, Terraform, Chef.Support bare metal provisioning and virtualization using KVM, VMware ESXi.Provision and manage storage backends (Ceph, Cinder volumes) and image repositories.Ensure secure access and compliance through RBAC and Keystone policies.Mentor and upskill team members within the engineering labs.Monitor and troubleshoot Open Stack services using Nagios and log analysis tools.Integrate Open Stack environments with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub, Maven).Required Technical SkillsCloud & VirtualizationStrong expertise in Open Stack (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, Swift, Heat).Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes (optional).Familiarity with Open Shift and basic AWS architecture knowledge (optional).Operating SystemsProficiency with Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Cent OS, Solaris.Automation & Dev OpsExpertise in Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform.Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Maven.NetworkingUnderstanding of VLANs, routers, subnets, floating IPs.Experience with Neutron services and SDN integration.StorageKnowledge of Ceph, Cinder, Swift.Volume management including snapshots, backups, and restores.Programming & ScriptingStrong scripting/programming in Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, C/C++.Monitoring & TestingProficiency with Nagios or equivalent monitoring tools.Strong skills in log analysis and fault isolation.Tools & TechnologiesMirantis Open StackRed Hat Open Stack PlatformAnsible, Terraform, Chef, PuppetNagios, Jenkins, Git, Maven
