OVERALL PURPOSE OFJOB:
Network Fiber Engineer (OpticalFiber Design and As Built) The Design Engineer addresses essentialdetails such as
conceptualizingand planning design of a Fiber Optic Network. They are responsiblefor all elements of preparing
fromthe ground up and play an active role in maintaining the client sfiberoptic network. The designeris
responsible for creatinghigh/low level design and updating documentation and drawings. Theyshould have a proper
understandingof proprietary design software and other technicalities. It is theresponsibility of the FiberOptics
Designer to create basemappings. They should prepare permit drawings OSP constructiondrawings Bill of
Materials andAsBuiltdrawings.

The designer shouldtake charge of different types of fiber optics and put to meetinternal and client
draftingstandards.
The designer possessesdemonstrable knowledge about internet and telephone signals andcontinually update
and upgradebased on the developments in theindustry
They must identify andrectify any issues that may affect the project. They should takeinto consideration
surroundingenvironments before building or finalizing networkplans.
The Fiber Optics Designermust be capable of building BOQs for all the material equipment andcomponents
required for thelayout. The professional must assist in the physical implementationof the design to avoid
anycomplications.
The designerevaluates reports drawings and calculations. They work in closecoordination with the
engineeringand field personnel to finish the project within the budget andstipulated time frame.Organize
and maintain allrevisions of project drawings plot files and projectrelatedinformation in a logicaland
wellstructuredmanner.
The professional mustarchive network blueprints notes and records with diligence forfuture use. They
need to updatedocumentation throughout the project on an ongoingbasis.
They need to have goodknowledge of broadband optical fiber copper connectivitysolutions.
