Role & responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination
  • Lead the planning and execution of automotive casting projects, including tooling development, prototype casting, and mass production phases.
  • Define project scope and timelines required for each project phase.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, design, manufacturing, quality control, and suppliers) to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Communication
  • Provide regular project updates, addressing concerns and managing expectations regarding project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Tooling Development Management. Oversee the design, development, and testing of tooling to ensure they meet quality and functional specifications.
  • Ensure tooling production is completed on time, meets all quality standards. Collaborate with toolmakers, engineering, and external vendors to troubleshoot tooling issues during development and production.
  • Monitor initial production batches for defects or quality issues and lead corrective actions if necessary.
  • Risk Management and Problem-Solving. Identify and mitigate risks associated with tooling design, casting production, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen project challenges (e.g., tooling delays, quality concerns).

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in automotive castings or tooling development, with a strong understanding of casting processes (e.g., sand casting, die casting, investment casting).
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving tooling design, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and budget management.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive industry standards, materials, and production processes related to castings.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
