We are partnering with a global leader in Pharma Company to identify Sr. Manager - Intellectual Property. The position will report to Head - IP.Location: Hyderabad / MumbaiThis position will report to the Head - IPTeam Size: 5 – 8 IP professionalsCTC: Approx 35 lpaYou may wish to follow us for other exciting opportunities OF POSITIONThe position will work on a wide variety of Intellectual Property matters within the Intellectual Property Department and CFT’s at Lotus including Product Clearance, Patent Filing & Prosecution, Patent Litigation, and Licensing / Due Diligence, TM clearance and registering for EU, US and APAC region. The incumbent Should lead a team in a dynamic environment and deliver results can grow along with fast paced work environment. This position will closely work with Portfolio, R&D scientists, Regulatory Affairs etc. The role is not to manage files. The role is to turn IP into strategy, and strategy into impact.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and manage the growing IP portfolio of the CompanyEnforce IP processes in the Organization to ensure the optimal and timely protection of intellectual property as well as protecting third-party partner interestsWork closely with Global IP Head, Research and Development and Portfolio teams to:Identify products (Gx and 505(b)(2)) to be introduced into the development gridDevise and manage the most effective product development strategy for the portfolioIdentify patentable inventions and provide guidance regarding the patentability of inventions under reviewDraft patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment and mitigation strategiesFile and prosecute inventive solutions to build significant wealth of intellectual propertyMonitor and evaluate third party scientific and patent publicationsProvide IP-related inputs to support legal agreements and negotiationsPartner with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice and strategy in connection with strategic M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, adverse proceedings, and litigation activitiesManage patent, trademark, copyright and related issuesMaintain appropriate record architecture and content of the Company’s inventions, know-how, trade secrets and registered intellectual propertyEducate the management and scientists in the Organization on the current best practices for the protection of inventions and intellectual propertyLead, empower and coach a team of IP professionalsPrepare and manage the budget of the functionQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTSPhD or a Post-graduate in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Sciences or Pharmaceutical SciencesDesirable to have an additional specialization in Intellectual PropertyWork experience of at least 13+ years in a reputable Global Pharmaceutical company with team handling skills.Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting and prosecution, and ancillary areas in a pharmaceutical organization.
