This includes the deployment process for application code and infrastructure changes; ensuring that the integrity of the production computing environment is maintained and downtime for the business is kept to a minimum. This is the second and highest level within the Change and Release Management job family. The incumbent will provide guidance and direction to others in the team and is expected to lead projects of moderate scope and complexity. Job Responsibilities: Continually reviews processes used for deployment of applications and infrastructure changes to ensure that they support industry best practices and internal audit requirements. Makes recommendations to management for process improvements. Educates IS development and infrastructure teams in the pre-deployment and deployment tasks and processes. Facilitates the production Release Management process according to established policies and procedures. Defines all pre-deployment activities and ensures that they are complete and documented prior to the deployment to UAT, pilot, and full implementation. Maintains and reviews the Release Readiness Checklist. Reviews deployment plans with developers to ensure that established procedures are followed throughout the release process and that potential risks are adequately addressed Coordinates the release process, overseeing deployment activities and assisting in the resolution of any issues. Participates, along with the Program Manager and the Leader of the Change & Release Management team in the go/no go decision relative to deployments. Also participates in the post implementation review, provides input pertaining to lessons learned improvements, and ensures that the improvements are effectively implemented. Recommends Change Management policies and procedures for the production, training, and staging environments. Keeps abreast of regulatory requirements such as the Sarbanes/Oxley Act and ensures that IS practices are compliant. Facilitates the production Change Management process according to established policies and procedures. Verifies that submitted changes conform to the established approval process. Manages change requests through the acceptance, review, scheduling, and completion phases. Participates in and provide input to audits of the controls associated with the Change and Release Management processes, ensuring compliance with and proper reporting for Internal Audit regulations. Recommends improvements to the online Change Request System (CRS) and ensures their implementation. Maintains and enhances documentation relating to the Release and Change Management processes. Works independently and/or coordinates resources to complete small to medium size projects. Serves as Vice-Chair of the Change Advisory Board. Attends, and at times runs the meetings as required ensuring that the appropriate members and stakeholders receive timely and accurate communication. Skill and Experience: 3 to 8 years of experience required to perform essential job functions. Additional Experience Qualifier (optional): 6+ years in Information Technology or Change and Release Management Technical knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of, and proven experience working with, the software development lifecycle and system development methodology practices. Excellent understanding of best practices related to Change and Release Management. Good understanding of FMs business and how the release will impact it. Technical skills to identify, understand, and enhance all of the required workflows and phases associated with a given process. Ability to organize and pull together required activities into a cohesive plan and lead the execution of the plan. Technical aptitude sound understanding of computer technologies. Demonstrated project management skills. Soft skills: Strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills for interacting with users and management. Assertive yet able to work well with people and negotiate issues to a conclusion that is acceptable to all parties. Strong team player; ability to facilitate resolution of differences of opinion between individuals and teams. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure. Must Have Skills: SDLC & Methodologies: Proven experience with the software development lifecycle and system development methodologies. Change & Release Management: Strong understanding of best practices in managing change and software releases. ITSM Tools: Familiarity with the Ivanti ITSM platform for service and change management. Process Governance: Ability to apply structured practices to ensure quality and consistency in software delivery. Education and Certifications: Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree with equivalent experience. Certification in ITiL, CMM, or other change / project management related certification is desirable.
