Position Summary

We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated 3D Modeller & Texture Artist to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or career changers looking to break into the gaming and product visualisation industry. You'll work on exciting projects creating 3D assets for games and product models whilst receiving mentorship and professional development support.

What You'll Be CreatingGame Assets

  • Environmental objects, props, and architectural elements for game worlds
  • Weapons, tools, and interactive objects
  • Vehicles, furniture, and decorative items
  • Stylised and realistic game assets optimised for performance

Product Models

  • Consumer products for marketing and e-commerce visualisation
  • Industrial design prototypes and concepts
  • Packaging and promotional materials
  • Technical product demonstrations

Key Responsibilities3D Modelling

  • Create detailed 3D models for games and product visualisation using Blender
  • Develop clean, efficient geometry suitable for real-time rendering
  • Build models from concept art, technical drawings, or photographic references
  • Ensure proper topology and edge flow for optimal performance
  • Learn and apply industry-standard modelling techniques
  • Maintain organised project files and naming conventions

Texturing & Materials

  • Apply high-quality textures and materials using Substance Painter
  • Create PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials for realistic appearance
  • Develop UV layouts for efficient texture usage
  • Generate texture maps including diffuse, normal, roughness, and metallic channels
  • Learn advanced texturing techniques through hands-on projects
  • Build and maintain texture libraries for future use

Learning & Development

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops
  • Collaborate with senior artists to improve skills and techniques
  • Stay updated with industry trends and new software features
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Document your learning process and share insights with colleagues

Project Collaboration

  • Work alongside game designers, product managers, and other artists
  • Communicate progress clearly and ask for guidance when needed
  • Incorporate feedback positively and implement revisions efficiently
  • Meet project milestones with support from senior team members

What We're Looking ForEssential Requirements

  • Proficiency in Blender
    for 3D modelling and UV mapping (portfolio evidence required)
  • Basic knowledge of Substance Painter
    or willingness to learn quickly
  • Understanding of fundamental 3D concepts (topology, UV mapping, texturing)
  • Portfolio demonstrating 3D modelling work (personal projects, coursework, or tutorials welcome)
  • Enthusiasm for gaming and/or product design
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills

Educational Background

  • Recent graduate in Game Art, 3D Design, Product Design, or related field, OR
  • Self-taught artist with demonstrable 3D modelling skills, OR
  • Career changer with transferable skills and genuine interest in 3D art

Technical Skills (Beginner to Intermediate Level)

  • Solid foundation in Blender's modelling tools and workflows
  • Basic understanding of PBR materials and texturing principles
  • Familiarity with file formats commonly used in 3D pipelines
  • Basic knowledge of UV unwrapping and texture painting

Creative Skills

  • Good eye for detail, proportion, and visual aesthetics
  • Ability to work from reference materials and concept art
  • Understanding of colour theory and composition basics
  • Interest in various art styles from photorealistic to stylised
  • Problem-solving mindset when facing technical challenges
