Quality Engineer -Automation-ETL, Complex SQL, Azure Databricks "Specific requirements of this unique demand/role:

The STAM project is seeking a skilled Software QA Test Engineer. STAM (Site Transaction Analytical Mobility) is a strategic Data LakeHouse solution within the Downstream Mobility Data & Analytics portfolio, designed to replace the current RSTS (SAP4HANA) system. RSTS captures transactional sales data from Shell retail stations and transforms it into actionable insights for reporting and analytics.

The STAM solution leverages modern cloud technologies including Azure Event Hubs, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake Storage, with reporting via SAP BO, Power BI, and external system integration through APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and own QA deliverables including: Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Cases (risk-based approach)
• Execute manual and automated test cases to validate data integrity and system functionality.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to automation strategy.
• Design and execute tests for large-scale data migrations, ensuring data availability, accuracy, and quality.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure testing aligns with business requirements and technical design.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software QA and testing, preferably in data platforms or cloud-based solutions.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data validation techniques.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, especially Databricks and Data Factory.
• Experience with test automation tools and scripting is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Accountable for End to End testing deliverables in a portfolio and demand management, by bringing in capable candidates to the team and ensuring End to End delivery for each of the programs has top quality deliverables. Maintain Business Continuity. Manage a small team of 10-12 members, their goals, appraisals and the development plans supporting their aspirations. Demonstrate Automation experience, ability to manage and deliver top quality testing for medium to large programs. Take a leadership position in automation, working with Architects and Scrum team members to clarify requirements, ensure testability and the ability to automate. Provide feedback on design, both functional and technical. Innovate on latest tools and processes to improve QA functional, manual and Automation testing. Document best practices and mentor junior team members. Work on frameworks to ensure continuous deployment and continuous integration.

Mandatory skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science / equivalent and 12+ years of experience as QA lead. Agile testing & test automation (accelerators tools).
• Selenium C# with BDD framework using Specflow, API Automation. Implementation of selenium Grid. Applying appropriate test measurements & metrics.

Optional skills:

• Leadership and ability to drive change using influence and networking. Good team player and effective leader with a long-term vision. Flexible re time zones - coordination with stakeholders in UK/US
