Position Overview Leading a team of artists and being responsible for the quality check of the team’s output Liaising with production to help ensure an efficient schedule and distribution of work Working with the paint supervisor to prepare briefs and ensure quality Using patches and frame-by-frame painting techniques to remove rigs and tracking markers De-graining plates to be used for paint and compositing Bidding the duration required for the various Paint tasks on a show Learning and developing specific Folks VFX pipeline and workflows Required Skills and Experience Traditional art and design skills including knowledge of composition and color Knowledge of Nuke Knowledge of a Linux based operating system An understanding of motion blur and how it affects mattes and patches Prior use of a roto-scoping package, ideally Silhouette A desire to learn new techniques and teach fellow artists Excellent organizational and communication skills Team-working abilities The ability to take criticism and feedback Good problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other artists An understanding of the 3D environment within Nuke. Using expressions within Nuke to help aid paint work
