Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer Applications (ETL Engineer) to join our team. This role is responsible for translating business requirements and functional specifications into Informatica PowerCenter ETL solutions. The position involves working closely with the USA development team, providing consultation to ensure high-quality deliverables, and mentoring junior developers on ETL techniques. The role primarily supports the Kaiser Permanente Membership Data Warehouse (MDW), which handles a large volume of claims data using Type II dimensional data-change tracking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into physical program designs, code modules, and application systems.
  • Develop and deliver resilient, secure, and scalable ETL solutions using Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Lead system incident support and troubleshooting for complex issues.
  • Perform component integration testing (CIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to company architectural standards, design patterns, and technical specifications.
  • Write, review, and validate technical specifications and documentation.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers on ETL methodologies and coding best practices.
  • Provide insights into technical solutions and industry best practices.
  • Support transformation, accessibility, and security of information assets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data software development or a related field.
  • Strong SQL scripting skills and data analysis expertise.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a Data Warehousing environment.
  • Hands-on expertise with Informatica PowerCenter (minimum 5 years).
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata / Oracle Database / Teradata Database.
  • Strong background in ETL development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in systems analysis and high-level design for complex solutions.
  • Experience with Cloud Platform technologies and Databricks.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Informatica IICS.
  • Passion for working with data, with strong curiosity and analytical mindset.
