Job Summary:

The GST and TDS Compliance Specialist will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with GST and TDS regulations. This role involves preparing and filing GST and TDS returns, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with tax authorities, and providing expert guidance on compliance issues. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. GST Compliance:

  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1,GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).
  • Maintain and reconcile GST records, including sales and purchase registers.
  • Assist in GST audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
  • Conduct periodic GST compliance checks.

2. TDS Compliance:

  • Prepare and file TDS returns (e.g., Form 24Q, 26Q, 27Q, etc.).
  • Maintain TDS records and reconcile with Form 26AS.
  • Provide support during TDS audits and address queries from tax authorities.
  • Generate and issue TDS certificates to vendors and employees.

3. Coordination and Communication:

  • Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as required.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) to ensure accurate tax compliance.
  • Assist in training and educating staff on GST and TDS compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in GST and TDS compliance or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of GST and TDS regulations and procedures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific tax issues.
  • Experience with tax audits and disputes.
