Job Title: Senior Android Developer
Experience: 5+ years

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to support our accessibility compliance efforts. This role requires strong expertise in Android's accessibility APIs and TalkBack features. The developer will collaborate with the team to design, build, and deliver accessibility features across the full software lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full software lifecycle, including development, code reviews (PRs), and bug fixes.
  • Implement key accessibility features to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards.
  • Attend status meetings to report progress and highlight potential issues.
  • Mentor and assist other developers in accessibility-focused development.
  • Provide guidance on accessibility best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with Android TalkBack and accessibility APIs in both Views and Jetpack Compose.
  • Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 compliance.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in remote/hybrid environments.
  • Self-directed with proven ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of Android app development using Kotlin, Coroutines, Views, and Jetpack Compose.
  • 5+ years of experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL (RetroFit, OkHttp, Volley, Apollo, or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience with Git (branching, merging, pull request workflow).
  • 3+ years of experience with audio/video playback (ExoPlayer, Media Session APIs).
  • 3+ years of experience with unit/integration testing (JUnit, Mockito, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of MVVM architecture, Dependency Injection (DI), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Clean Architecture.
  • Proficiency in local data storage (SQLite, Room, or equivalent).
  • Experience with Compose Multiplatform and Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Gemini, or similar).
  • Experience with feature flagging tools, CI/CD practices, and Agile development workflows.
  • Skilled with JIRA, Confluence, and performance optimization tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹1,000, ₹1,700,000.00 per year
