Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop furniture products from concept through to production.- Create detailed 2D and 3D designs and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.- Collaborate with the production team to ensure design specifications are translated into functional, manufacturable products.- Conduct material selection and analysis to ensure durability and sustainability.- Implement design changes and improvements based on feedback from stakeholders and testing results.- Manage multiple projects, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and materials.- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.- 4-8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the furniture industry or related fields.- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.- Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to furniture design.- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with an ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with ergonomic and sustainable design.- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
