Primary Purpose

Logistics engineer position is to manage & lead the implementation of logistics activities related to product and process projects ensuring all activities are aligned with local & global routines, guidelines, and strategies (including VOC, VPS, and PSM methodology).

Key Responsibilities

In-depth knowledge of the logistics process & flow and work towards synchronize physical material flows in the warehouse with Information flow. Define PFEP and material flow for product and Industrial projects. Design new layout for Warehouse and Line delivery according to new BOM with new racking requirements & required resources such as manning, equipment, area in line with project deadlines. Optimise warehouse layout by identifying new racking requirements, manning & equipment. Design & implement line feeding trollies & kitting trollies. Create Part Handling Review (PHR) for critical components.  VOC guidelines are understood and followed for any improvement or changes. Troubleshooting and performing RCA’s and documenting issues Perform audits from time to time to ensure processes are being adhered. Identify and understand business problems and provide systematic end to end solutions addressing the business needs. Promote a safety culture with regular audits individually & cross functionally. Promote and implement VPS principles and the Volvo Operations Concept guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in BE Mech or Industrial engineering preferred. Strong Microsoft office suite skills required. Good data analytical capabilities is must. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Understanding of logistics systems, processes, lean manufacturing, and Kaizen. Ability to work within a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication. Identify and report all hazards, incidents, injuries & near misses immediately. Implement DCN changes at Warehouse & line side. Ensure key legislative requirements are met and changes to legislation are communicated. Actively address any health & safety issue identified by team members. Support team members in implementation of Continuous improvement initiatives & ideas.
